What Reverse Cycle Chiller Is

Reverse Cycle Chiller is an air to refrigeration to water heat pump and is matched up with a high efficiency UPG (Coleman, Luxiare or York) heat pump which converts it into a heat pump providing heated and chilled water which, in turn, will heat and cool your home or office.

The Reverse Cycle Chiller will work with Air Handlers, Fan Coils, Chill Beams and Pex tubing for radiant floor heating. The best function is that the Reverse Cycle Chiller can be used with a combination of all of the above.

Reverse Cycle Chiller will also produce chilled water which will air condition and dehumidify your home or office in the heat of the summer.

What the Reverse Cycle Chiller is Not

The Reverse Cycle Chiller is a revolutionary product and far exceeds the capabilities of what a standard heat pump or even an geothermal system can produce.

However, there are some limitations to the functions of the Reverse Cycle Chiller system.

Do NOT use the Reverse Cycle Chiller in the following:

As a direct replacement for a boiler.
In a system with radiators or baseboard heaters.
To heat or pre-heat domestic hot water.
In any system requiring water over 120°F.
To heat swimming pools.
As a standard heat pump (or DX) system.
In systems that have: Iron, PVC, cPVC, Galvanized or similar piped systems.
In systems requiring water colder than 38°F

RCS is NOT a geothermal or ground loop system.
RCS is NOT a domestic hot water heat pump.

RCS will NOT work outside its designs!!!!

What's the Price

CostIt’s very difficult to accurately “guesstimate” what an installed system will cost. Reverse Cycle Chiller installed costs vary widely because a good deal of the total cost is created by the labor required to install the system. Labor costs are impossible to calculate without actually seeing the home or office.

Pricing for new construction homes will vary from older homes that need to be retrofitted. The best way to determine system cost is to have a Factory Trained Reverse Cycle Chiller Installer visit your home or office and provide a total installed quote.

How Does it Compare

Below is a chart which measures each technology by a common factor, Coefficient of Performance or C.O.P.

C.O.P. measure the amount of energy (KW) the system takes in and how efficient it is with it output kw.

Example: a 100% Efficiency gas furnace has a C.O.P. of 1.

Column1
Standard Heat Pump 2.5
Reverse Cycle Chiller 5
Geothermal 5
